DiCICCO PLEASED THAT 23 SCHOOL PROJECTS IN 4TH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT ARE ELIGIBLE FOR STATE FUNDS
CHRISTIE ADMINISTRATION APPROVES PARTIAL FUNDING FOR $12.4 MILLION WORTH OF MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN 4TH DISTRICT
School districts in the 4th Legislative District are eligible for $4.6 million in state school construction grants, as part of a $270 million statewide funding plan announced today by the Christie administration.
Assemblyman Domenick DiCicco, R-Gloucester and Camden, was pleased that 23 projects in his district are eligible for state funds. The funding is contingent on the projects getting approval for local funds. In total, schools in DiCicco's district are eligible for $4.6 million in state funds, which would help pay for $12.4 million worth of projects including replacing the security system in a Lindenwold Elementary School, creating two classrooms at Delsea Regional High School and a roof replacement at Washington Township High School.
"This funding will help districts keep their schools safe, secure and well-maintained without placing the entire burden on property taxpayers," DiCicco said. "I'm pleased the state is investing in our local schools and I look forward to these projects moving forward, because they will have the added benefit of creating some much-needed construction jobs in South Jersey."
School districts with projects deemed eligible for state funds in the 4th Legislative District include Delsea Regional, Monroe and Washington, in Gloucester County, and Clementon, Gloucester Township and Lindenwold, in Camden County.
Statewide, 740 projects, representing 177 districts were deemed eligible for $270 million of funding.
A complete list of projects can be found on the Department of Education's web site: http://www.state.nj.us/education/news/2010/0728rod.htm.
